The Legendary Richard Avedon

Richard Avedon is one of the most influential and groundbreaking figures in fashion photography. In the 1940's and 1950's he stirred up the fashion industry with spreads for Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. In the documentary Richard Avedon Darkness and Light, he explains that his favorite subjects to shoot are ones that will always and forever confuse him. Which is why he was so intrigued to shoot women; their beauty, essence, outlook and nature were a complete mystery to him. He is considered one of the most famous photographers of all time and his work truly speaks for itself.
